UNLOCK FOUNDATION

Unlock Foundation is a global non-profit established to help underprivileged kids enter the action sports world on bikes, skis, snowboards, surfboards and skateboards. The Foundation funds programs to enable children’s access into action sports venues and covers the cost of their experience.

It’s all about inclusion, and regardless of a person’s ability, Unlock will provide youth with the opportunity to play, express themselves and improve both their physical and mental health. As well as acting as an introduction to action sports, the foundation also assists dedicated participants (of all ages) reach professional/ competition levels in a multitude of disciplines.

All of the profits made from each facility will go directly back into supporting underprivileged youth in the local community thereby enabling a perpetual way to put money into communities.

The funds will be distributed through a variety of pathways to help the local youth. Including:

  • Free programming for underprivileged youth within the facility. This will include, access to the facility, rentals and coaching.
  • Funding existing community programs in which our vision is aligned. Eg. Youth homelessness shelters, local mentorship programs, outdoor stewardship programs, etc.
  • Competition – assist youth in the community with the resources, funding and coaching to reach professional/ competition level in their chosen outdoor discipline.
  • Supporting local – donations in the form of cash and volunteer hours into local community organizations. This will include helping local trail building authorities, forest stewardship agencies and local outdoor sports organizations.

With its community engagement through a multitude of giving platforms, the Unlock Foundation’s facility will become a hub for the local community to centre their love of nature and outdoor sports.
